2PM to make a comeback in early 2013

2PM has announced that they’ll be making a comeback as early as January  next year!

JYP Entertainment stated, “2PM is currently working under the schedule of making a comeback early next year. We can’t give any details on the exact timing yet but it will be in the beginning of the year.”
This will mark their first comeback in a year six months since their ‘Hands Up‘ release in June of 2011. Since then, the boys have been focusing on international activities while hinting at a comeback in September or October of this year.

Their achievements in Japan seem to have set plans back a bit, as they’ve been named the hottest K-Pop star by many insiders in the Hallyu industry. Their November 14th single release in Japan hit 130,000 sales in its first week.

JYP representatives continued, “The members are all looking forward to their Korean promotions. We’d love it if you all looked forward to it as well.”

2PM’s successful ‘Hands Up Asia Tour’ brought in $53 million

Male idol group 2PM successfully wrapped up their ‘Hands Up Tour‘.

According to CJ E&M, the beastly boys embarked on their ‘2PM HANDS UP ASIA TOUR 2011-2012‘ last September and recently held their final tour performance in Hong Kong back on March 10th.

The boys sold out a show for 10,000 in Taiwan, 7,000 in Jarkata, 8,000 in Singapore, 9,000 in Bangkok, and 9,000 in Hong Kong .

CJ E&M’s global concert brand M-Live who coordinated this particular tour remarked, “Although the K-POP and Hallyu market is based in Asia, there are not many artists who can sell out 10 performances in 8 countries back to back in a period of six months.”

“The profits made from this Asia Tour is expected to be around $53 million. That’s including tickets, album sales, sponsor business marketing, local promotions, and more. The stabilization of Hallyu has contributed to the success, and the direct effects are definitely noteworthy,” they continued.

In Indonesia, 7,000 tickets sold out within a minute of going on sale, and representative from the local area remarked, “There was already a K-POP craze in the area, but before and after 2PM’s concert, there hs been a higher interest in all things related to K-POP, and sales for albums and magazines are more favorable.”

Furthermore, 2PM member Nichkhun‘s home country Thailand is currently one of the biggest markets for K-POP following Japan, and a local representative from the area added, “2PM is definitely a big hit in Thailand and is extremely popular. 2PM is certainly doing their part to effectively promote K-POP.”

Getting into closer contact with the fans by handing out signed posters, selecting songs from the local area, and holding fan meets is reportedly an important part of the marketing strategy.

M-Live remarked, “Other than a high-class performance, having other ‘fan services’ such as various promotions ready to meet the expectations of the audience is a vital part of the plan to globalize K-POP.”

JYP Entertainment stated, “Thanks to the fans, we have been able to reap tremendous success. We are glad that we have done our small part to help K-POP artists advance into other parts of Asia. Thank you to all the international fans who have waited for 2PM during their Asia Tour, and we will repay you with international activities.”

2PM tweets New Year’s greetings + pokes fun at their performance on ‘MBC Gayo Daejaejun’

Although 2PM put on a spectacular performance last night at the ’2011 MBC Gayo Daejaejun’, fans had a hard time seeing them due to the giant balls that somehow made their way onto the stage.

The balls were used as props for the “Hands Up” performance, but instead of traveling around the stadium, the balls were all passed to the front and right into the middle of the stage, covering 2PM’s performance from view.

Because the balls had all migrated to the center of the stage much faster than anyone had expected, the staff had to go on stage to kick the balls out of the way in the midst of the group’s performance.
After the end of the show, 2PM left New Year’s greetings on their Twitter and wittily incorporated the word “gohng” (the word for “ball”, with other meanings such as “zero”, “distinction”, “labor” in Korean) in into their messages as much as possible, as if to joke about the mishap during their performance.

Nickhun tweeted, “Everyone!!!! Hope you receive much distinction ["GOHNG"] in the New Year!!!!!!!! Be successful in the year of Two Zero ["GOHNG"] One Two!!!!♥”

Junho wrote, “Happy New Year ^^! You are the main character ["joo-in-GOHNG"]!! We put in much labor ["GOHNG"] into our performance ["GOHNG-yeon"] today ^^… 2012 Fighting!! Thank you to the staff for working so hard for the year-end!!”

Chansung also followed, “Everyone, it’s now a new year!! When I reflect on 2011 which has passed in the blink of an eye, I think a lot about the person I had been. ^^… You are the main character ["joo-in-GOHNG"] of 2012 ^^ You all saw our stage that we put in much labor["GOHNG"] into today, right?? Happy New Year ^^~~”

Taecyeon chimed in, “Everyone~ did you enjoy classic “Hands Up” and “Back To You”? A surprise even the main characters ["joo-in-GOHNG"] were surprised by!!… It is now 2 zero ["GOHNG"] 12!! Since our performance which we have put in so much labor ["GOHNG"] has ended, for all those people who worked hard today, Happy New Year~”

It’s been a long time since I’ve said hello, so I hope you’ve been well. We’ve been spending our time in the rehearsal room– oh, can you see it?
Next year, we will come back with a new song. [It's] tiring, but it’s all good and we’re doing well. We’ve had quite the busy schedule and appeared on a variety show. We showed our faces to the public, don’t know if you’ve seen it, haha.
In the future, if we have another way to see you guys, we definitely will. Please anticipate our performances. It’s really cold these days, so remember to be careful of catching a cold. Being healthy is the best. I’m fighting a cold right now too, but I’m almost all better so don’t worry. Please look forward to our new album next year, I love you.”
