Lee Hyori shares her thoughts on her time as a soju model


Lee Hyori recently shared her thoughts on finishing her time as the long -running endorsement model for Lotte Liquor.

She tweeted on the 12th, “I’m a woman who went through a beautiful farewell today… After breaking up, I will soothe my heart with a glass of soju… Which soju should I drink? Hmm… hehe.” She later added, “For several years, I had times when I liked and hated having my face plastered on a soju bottle… I hope my smiling face was encouraging for the struggles people go through… Thank you~,” sharing her thoughts on ending her contract with the soju brand.

Lee Hyori became the endorsement model for Lotte Liquor back in 2007 and has served as the representative soju model of ‘Like the First Time’ soju for the past five years. Lotte Liquor commented, “We decided that the soju advertisement needs a new image, thus we chose not to renew a contract with [Lee Hyori].”

To commemorate Lee Hyori’s long standing position as Korea’s soju model, Lotte Liquor will release a ‘Lee Hyori Goodbye’ video that features a compilation of her past commercials.

Eunhyuk reveals how he injured his finger on ‘Strong Heart’


Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk appeared on the February 28th broadcast of SBS TV’s  ’Strong Heart‘ with a bandaged finger, which drew the attention of viewers and fellow guests alike.

When asked about his finger, Eunhyuk revealed that he had injured his finger while trying to open a can of corn. MC Lee Seung Gi questioned him, asking, “Did you really hurt yourself trying to open a can of corn?” to which Eunhyuk replied, “Yes, really.” He then revealed that he cut his finger on the can, and that he had to go to the emergency room where he received five stitches.

Eunhyuk had tweeted on the 17th, “I didn’t want people to worry so I tried to keep it hush-hush, but it looks like there’s already been an article about it. Actually, I kept it hush-hush because I was embarrassed…anyway, the bandages are off and I’m fine! Please be careful when opening cans.”

That must have been one tough can of corn, but we’re glad that Eunhyuk’s okay!

Super Junior and SNSD celebrates together

SM Entertainment groups Super Junior and Girls’ Generation / SNSD, who recently collaborated for Seoul Song got together recently and celebrated after a successful evening for both parties at the 2009 Golden Disk Awards. Super Junior won the award for Disk Daesang while SNSD won the award for Digital Daesang.

After the award show, the two groups took off their makeup, wore casual clothing and showed up at a Korean BBQ Galbee 2 story restaurant in the Gangnam district of Seoul. About 50 total people showed up and they reserved the whole 2nd floor to themselves. There was a lot of crying and hugging between the two groups as they showed a brother-sister type bond at the late-night meal celebration.

Usually there would be a lot of alcohol with soju, beer, and wine served for such an occasion, but because of the combination of the Kangin incident, under-aged members, and Super Junior having to get ready for a concert in Naning, China on December 12th, they decided to do cheers with regular soda drinks instead. The total bill for the food totaled around $1400. SM representative Kim Young Min along with TVXQ member Yunho also joined in on the festivities and congratulated both groups. Fans of both groups waited until 3AM at the entrance of the restaurant to get a glimpse of their idols. Because of the dedication shown by these fans, some Super Junior members went out to greet them, give handshakes, and autographs.

This is pretty cool and shows the bond between the two groups. Thanks to myra for the tip and translations.
