Which idol groups are the most popular by country?


Fans all over the world voted for the most popular idols in their country.
CJ E&M ran a survey from December 11th to the 18th asking users to vote for their favorite idols. The survey received a total of 920,000 votes from 18 different countries including Japan, Russia, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, France, England, Germany, Spain, Poland, United States, Canada, Mexico, and Argentina.
In Japan, TVXQ was voted to be the most popular, receiving 40.8% of the votes. Following were f(x) with 12.1%, Girls’ Generation with 10.7%, 2NE1 with 10.1%, and Ailee with 8.1%. TVXQ also ranked #1 in Russia.
In China, F.T. Island received 30% of the votes to rank #1, followed by INFINITE‘s Sunggyu with 26.5%, f(x) with 15.3%, Super Junior with 10.5%, and TVXQ with 4.7%. The pop rock band also ranked #1 in both Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Super Junior gained 27.1% of the votes in the United States to rank #1. f(x) followed with 11.5%, and F.T. Island with 10.9%. Super Junior proved their huge popularity as they ranked #1 in 10 other countries, including Australia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, England, France, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina. They had the most overall #1 rankings.
Big Bang‘s G-Dragon took #1 in Spain and Poland by himself, managing to beat out all the other groups in those respective countries.

L’s manners toward women on ‘Hello’ draw praise from the audience


INFINITE‘s L earned the praise of the female members of the audience on ‘Hello‘.

He and Sunggyu were two of the guests on the 3rd’s episode of ‘Hello’. One of the guests complained that her husband cursed at her all the time. The husband explained himself by saying that was how he showed his affections. However, L firmly pointed out, “You should never curse at women.”


Also, when one of the female guests had a hard time getting up after coming down to slide to make her entrance, L rose immediately from his seat and helped her stand up. Although it’s common to see the male guests offer their hands to help the women out of the pool of plastic balls, L took it a step further by actually wading through the balls to reach the guest. The female audience cheered loudly for his manners, and Yewon, who was also one of the celebrity guests, said, “Sunggyu, you should get up and help her, too“. To this, Sunggyu replied that L’s manners were ‘only for business’, causing the audience to laugh.

INFINITE’s Sunggyu reveals he likes wearing Sungjong’s underwear


INFINITE‘s Sunggyu confessed his unique underwear preferences.

On the December 3rd episode of KBS 2TV‘s ’Hello‘, Sunggyu was asked, “Is there a member who uses items belonging to the other members’?“, and he honestly confessed, “Sometimes I wear other people’s underwear without telling them“. The MCs were surprised by this confession, but asked, “Whose underwear do you like the most?“.


The question flustered Sunggyu for a bit, but he answered, “I like Sungjong‘s especially. His colorful underwear is my style“, causing the studio to explode into laughter.

INFINITE’s Sunggyu reveals tracklist for solo debut, “Another Me”


INFINITE‘s Sunggyu has revealed the tracklist for his upcoming solo debut, ‘Another Me’!

Following on the heels of a pre-release of his song “Shine“, the tracklist showcases six different tracks, each sure to bring out a new sound from the INFINITE leader.

INFINITE’s Sunggyu unveils his solo debut single “Shine”

 

In addition to being the leader of INFINITE, Sunggyu now stands before his fans as a solo artist as he has just released his first solo single!

After the release of several hints and an audio preview earlier, Sunggyu has unveiled his single “Shine“, which he created with the help of Nell‘s Kim Jong Wan.

With this project, the singer ventures into a genre outside of INFINITE’s style and further shows his passion and talent for music.

INFINITE’s website reveals Sunggyu’s solo debut date & audio teaser


INFINITE‘s official website has been updated with more information pertaining to Sunggyu‘s solo debut.

The boy group’s official website, after releasing several hints, has finally revealed the date and track name for the leader’s solo debut.

The track is titled “Shine” and will be released on November 7th at 12:00PM. The lyrics and composition is by Kim Jong Wan and the song is by Sunggyu himself.

The website also added a brief audio preview of the track which can be heard below or on INFINITE’s website.

INFINITE’s L drops another hint for Sunggyu’s potential solo debut


Yesterday, it was revealed that INFINITE‘s Sunggyu would potentially be having a solo debut and now member L has added more credence to this.

L uploaded the above photo on his Twitter along with the words “D-4“. In the photo, Sunggyu can be seen in the studio, carefully going over lyrics with who appears to be a composer.

So far, we know that Sunggyu’s solo debut could be titled “Another Me“.

INFINITE reveals teaser image for Sunggyu’s solo debut?


Yesterday, INFINITE‘s official website posted a vague message with the words “Solo Invasion“. Now, the INFINITE website has been updated with another hard to decipher image.

Although the image above is a bit hard to decipher, it seems it says: “Kim Sunggyu Another Me“. Take that for whatever you will, but it seems the message is implying that member Sunggyu will be having a solo debut of some sorts. This coming off the heels of the news that Dongwoo and Hoya will be promoting as a INFINITE-H.

INFINITE releases their new track, “Only Tears”


INFINITE is back with a fresh new ballad track!

“Only Tears” was a song first performed at INFINITE’s encore concert back in April, and it is finally available for fans everywhere to enjoy. Though Sunggyu performed the song solo at the concert, the studio version of “Only Tears” produced by hit-maker Sweetune features the emotional vocals of all seven members. The song is a sad one that sings of a man who believes he is far from good enough to take care of the woman he loves, and the lyrical and romantic strings melody well accompanies the individual charms and appeals of the boys. The harmony of “Only Tears” is sure to stir the hearts of their loyal fans who have been eagerly awaiting their comeback.

Check it out below as we patiently wait for the release of their third mini album ‘INFINITIZE‘ on May 15th.
