Which idol groups are the most popular by country?


Fans all over the world voted for the most popular idols in their country.
CJ E&M ran a survey from December 11th to the 18th asking users to vote for their favorite idols. The survey received a total of 920,000 votes from 18 different countries including Japan, Russia, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, France, England, Germany, Spain, Poland, United States, Canada, Mexico, and Argentina.
In Japan, TVXQ was voted to be the most popular, receiving 40.8% of the votes. Following were f(x) with 12.1%, Girls’ Generation with 10.7%, 2NE1 with 10.1%, and Ailee with 8.1%. TVXQ also ranked #1 in Russia.
In China, F.T. Island received 30% of the votes to rank #1, followed by INFINITE‘s Sunggyu with 26.5%, f(x) with 15.3%, Super Junior with 10.5%, and TVXQ with 4.7%. The pop rock band also ranked #1 in both Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Super Junior gained 27.1% of the votes in the United States to rank #1. f(x) followed with 11.5%, and F.T. Island with 10.9%. Super Junior proved their huge popularity as they ranked #1 in 10 other countries, including Australia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, England, France, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina. They had the most overall #1 rankings.
Big Bang‘s G-Dragon took #1 in Spain and Poland by himself, managing to beat out all the other groups in those respective countries.

Sulli participates in a solo photoshoot for ‘High Cut’


f(x)‘s Sulli was featured in the November issue of fashion magazine ‘High Cut‘.

In the photoshoot, Sulli lounged about on the couch and bed as the concept was about a girl enjoying a sunny day while indoors. Her girlish looks were emphasized with bright lighting, loose clothing, and a mix of neutral and bright colors. To fit with the concept, the makeup was kept natural and her hair was left down in loose tousled waves.

‘Family photos’ of SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment gather attention


Recently, a fan uploaded three photos of the ’3 Big’ entertainment companies online. The three ‘family’ photos gained a lot of attention because each company seemed to showcase their own styles just through the photos alone.

The SM Entertainment family photo was toned overly in the color pink, with the members dressed in black and white with hints of blue and pink. They had the largest family out of the big three companies, showcasing groups with a large number of members such as Girls’ Generation and Super Junior. Of course, names such as TVXQ, EXO, SHINee, f(x), BoA, TRAX and others. They showed off a playful, bright look that was characteristic of SM Entertainment, with various props such as balloons, gifts, umbrellas and ribbons.



The JYP Entertainment family photo was taken in a formal, black-suit setting. 2AM, 2PM, Wonder Girls, miss A, San E, and J.Y. Park himself was featured in the photo in all-black, formal suits. However, fans noted right away that 2PM member Wooyoung was dressed up as a woman in the top right corner. Fans saw this as representing the usually down-to-earth and hardworking artists of JYP Entertainment but also showing their quirky side.

The YG Entertainment family photo showed the artists in a grayscale toned photo. Artists such as Se7en, Tablo, Big Bang, and 2NE1 were dressed in semi-formal clothing, dressing down with their own fashion-forward highlights of fur, leather jackets, gloves, and certain accessories. YG fans loved the photo, citing the YG artists’ characteristic iconic styles that reflected in the photo.

Lee Hyun Woo Criticized for Grabbing f(x) Sulli’s Breasts?


Lee Hyun Woo revealed that he was criticized by his friends for grabbing f(x) Sulli’s breasts on SBS “To the Beautiful You.”

On August 27, Lee Hyun Woo attended the mid-season press conference for “To the Beautiful You.” One of the biggest questions he received was regarding the scene where he grabs Sulli’s breasts. “There’s a scene where I touch Sulli’s breasts in the first episode. It was a really embarrassing and uncomfortable experience,” Lee Hyun Woo explained of the situation.

“It was really embarrassing when he shot the scene, but Sulli did a good job leading me so I was able to film it with ease. I think that’s why the drama as a whole looks more fun,” he said.

But he continued, “After the episode aired, I received a lot of calls from my friends. Most of them were envious and told me how fortunate I was to film that scene. But some of my friends criticized me and even cursed at me.”

In the first episode of “To the Beautiful You,” Lee Hyun Woo gives a tour of the school while taking her to the dorm. During their conversation, Lee Hyun Woo notices a difference in Sulli’s physical appearance and tells her that she looks slightly different from others. Out of nowhere, he places both of his hands on her breasts, asking why they’re so soft, but discovers they are actually “hard” in the middle.

“To the Beautiful You” is a romantic comedy that stars f(x)’s Sulli as a male-disguised Goo Jae Hee. It was has SHINee’s Minho, Lee Hyun Woo, Kim Ji Won, and Seo Jun Young on its cast.

[SPOILER 'To The Beautiful You'] f(x)’s Sulli…


Sulli‘s cover got blown only one episode into the new series.

On the August 15th broadcast of SBS ‘To The Beautiful You‘, Kang Tae Joon (Minho) agrees to use the same room as Goo Jae Hee (Sulli) if she puts in at least one goal during a soccer game.

Goo Jae Hee ran with all her might to try and score a goal, but fell and hit her head after being shoved by Song Jong Min (Kwanghee).

The school’s doctor Jang Min Woo (Ki Tae Young) who took a closer look at her condition informed Tae Joon and Eun Kyul that Sulli’s character was breathing normally, and a concussion had caused her to temporarily pass out.

However when Sulli awoke, Jang Min Woo looked towards her and said, “Are you awake? You passed out during the game.”

Getting to the point, Min Woo then added, “But it’s strange. Why is there a female student at an all-male school?“, revealing that he knew the truth about Sulli’s identity, and adding further suspense to the story.

Super Junior wins #1 + performances from July 12th’s ‘M! Countdown’!


Mnet’s “M! Countdown” is back with another spectacular episode chock-full of exciting performances!

Aside from the usual stages on tonight’s episode, N-Train, Wooyoung, Big Star, NU’EST, Boom, and A-JAX all made their respective debut/comeback on tonight’s episode.

Competing for the #1 spot, it was a hot battle between Super Junior, SISTAR, and 2NE1, but in the end, it was Super Junior who clinched the win tonight with “Sexy, Free & Single“!

Congratulations to Super Junior for their ‘M! Countdown’ trophy!

f(x) lights up the stage with “Electric Shock” and “Jet” on ‘Inkigayo’


The ladies of f(x) have released their newest EP ‘Electric Shock‘.

The album was released for digital consumption on June 10th (KST) and contains six total tracks: “Electric Shock“, “Jet“, “Zig Zag“, “Beautiful Stranger“, “Love Hate“, and “Let’s Try“. The music video for “Electric Shock” has been raking in views as well.

In order to commemorate their comeback stage special, the girls performed both “Electric Shock” and their follow-up track “Jet”.

MV for f(x)’s “Electric Shock” is finally out!


After releasing a series of teaser images, a MV teaser, plus the mini-album, the ladies of f(x) have finally released the “Electric Shock” music video.

This is the group’s title track off their new album and compares the feelings of falling in love to being “electric shocked”.

With the release of their album online on the 10th, f(x) will be dropping the album offline on June 13th.

 Having released their last two member teaser photos and a highlight medley video giving fans a sneak peek at what to expect from the tracks on the new mini album, f(x) has unleashed the music video teaser for ”Electric Shock“.

The mini album, due for an online release of June 10th, contains six total tracks: “Electric Shock”, “Jet“, “Zig Zag“, “Beautiful Stranger“, “Love Hate“, and “Let’s Try“.

All six songs will be released online through various music portals on the 10th before the offline release, which will follow shortly after on the 13th.

f(x) releases Luna and Amber’s teaser photos for ‘Electric Shock’


After announcing the news of their upcoming comeback and revealing member Krystal, Victoria, and Sulli‘s teaser photos, f(x) has unveiled Luna and Amber‘s teaser photos for ‘Electric Shock‘.

Although ‘M! Countdown‘ aired previews of the last two members last night, the official teaser photos released are a bit different. Much like the previous members’ teaser photos, Luna and Amber are also seen sporting the shocking blue colored contacts.

The title track of the album, also titled “Electric Shock”, is reported to be an energetic and rhythmical electronic-dance tune with an addictive chorus. The song compares the emotions associated with falling love to getting “electric shocked”.

As reported yesterday, the album will contain a total of six tracks (“Electric Shock”, “Jet“, “Zig Zag“, “Beautiful Stranger“, “Love Hate“, “Let’s Try“) and will be available offline on the 13th following the online release on the 10th.

f(x)’s “Electric Shock” MV records over 1 million views in less than a day


f(x)‘s “Electric Shock” is not only dominating music charts all over the world. The music video for the track has also gained a massive amount of views on Youtube.

The “Electric Shock” MV, which was released on June 12 KST, became the “Most Watched Video” and the “Most Searched Video” on Youtube within a day. Furthermore, it gained over 1 million views in a matter of fifteen hours.

As of June 13th, “Electric Shock” still continues to hold the #1 spot on popular music charts such as Melon, Mnet, and Naver Music. The popularity of “Electric Shock” is expected to increase even more when f(x) begins their promotional activities.

f(x)‘s album ‘Electric Shock‘, which was released on June 10th, has reached the #1 spot on both the US and Canadian iTunes chart for electronic albums, proving the group’s immense international popularity.
