Kim Hyun Joong and Lee Seung Gi have been voted as the stars who seem like they would be kings in the kitchen.

Internet lecture group Seven Edu ran a survey from January 17th to February 6th asking 3,512 visitors “Which star seems like he is a cooking king?” In the survey, Kim Hyun Joong ranked #1 with 39% (1,385) of the votes, and Lee Seung Gi followed close behind with 34% (1,201).

Kim Hyun Joong currently owns a fried chicken restaurant, and he sometimes visits to sign autographs for his fans and wash the dishes himself. He’s previously taken time to make kimbap for his fans during a fan meeting, and he’s also been seen cooking on various variety shows.

Lee Seung Gi was a surprising choice as he’s made a reputation for himself as a ‘bad cook’ on the variety show ‘1 Night 2 Days‘. During the show, he tried out different recipes, all to various degrees of failure. His hyungs on the show always begged him to stop cooking. However, he has shown passion for cooking himself, learning how to bake bread with his mother and not stopping his cooking attempts no matter how much his hyungs discouraged him.

Kim Hyun Joong has revealed the full PV for his new Japanese track, “Save Today“!

The new track is a part of his upcoming album, “UNLIMITED“, which will be his first solo album release in Japan.

The album, to be released on December 12, will come in 3 different versions: Limited Edition A, Limited Edition B, and a Regular Edition. The Limited Edition A will include a DVD that contains the PV and making of “Your Story” while Limited Edition B will include a DVD that contains the PV and making of “Save Today“.

Kim Hyun Joong turned into a casual winter guy for apparel brand HANGTEN.

He snagged the attention of his fans while donning colored outerwear, matching his trademark chic looks with HANGTEN’s styles. He matched a red padded jacket with an argyle knit for a classic and casual mood, and also matched an orange jacket with black pants for a more masculine look.

Fans commented, “Kim Hyun Joong is just always good looking“, and “That red jacket is so cute.”

SS501‘s Park Jung Min recently held his Japanese concert, ‘ROMEO CONTACT‘ on the 29th. After his concert, he stated to the press, “Recently, I got a text from Kyujong at 8 in the morning. I was up early that day and asked him what he was doing, and he answered that he was working. It was a very different situation.”

When asked about the possibility of SS501 coming back together, he explained, “We haven’t broken up, so we have the choice to come together anytime. Before Kyujong enlisted in the army, we all met up once. But right now, Kyujong is in the army, and all the members are in different situations. I can’t say anything for sure.”

SS501′s return may be especially difficult because the SS501 members are with different agencies. Kim Hyun Joong is signed with Key East Entertainment, Jung Min is with Yamaha A&R, Kim Hyung Joon is with S Plus Entertainment, and Heo Young Saeng along with Kim Kyu Jong are with B2M Entertainment. Additionally, Jung Min also expressed his future enlistment plans and said, “I still have domestic promotions left. I want to be active for a bit longer before I go.”

Kim Hyun Joong is channeling his rock spirit for his upcoming new album.

Ahead of the release of his first full-length Japanese album, Unlimited, the album’s main jacket image was revealed on October 22.

Clad in jeans and a leather jacket, Kim Hyun Joong is seen holding his electric guitar while giving a glimpse of his tattooed chest.

The upcoming full-length album contains a mix of his past hits and new tracks including Heat, Your Story, Save Today and more for a total of 14 tracks.

Your Story will serve as the album’s title track and was assisted by Daybreak’s bassist, Kim Sun Il. Save Today is another rock track that was composed with the help of rock bands Pia, Downhell and Daybreak.

Kim Hyun Joong is continuing to film for his upcoming KBS drama, City Conquest, while putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album which will be released on December 12.

A new still cut straight from the set of Kim Hyun Joong‘s upcoming drama, ‘City Conquest‘, has left netizens impressed with his charismatic transformation!

Covered in just enough dirt to leave his handsome features in full view, Kim Hyun Joong is seen pinning an enemy to the ground using his entire body. The picture not only demonstrates the level of action required of him in the drama, but also his determination to perfect his role, which staff noticed and sent applause his way for being willing to get down and dirty to complete the scene.

Kim Hyun Joong has been attending action school to better prepare himself for his role as ‘Baek Mir’. This combined with intense training and dieting has reportedly lowered his body fat percentage to 7%.

On July 29th, Kim Hyun Joong completed his eight city Asia tour with a final fan meet in Bangkok, Thailand.

The fan meet was planned as a way of showing his gratitude for the amount of love he’s received from fans all over Asia since his debut. The tour kicked off in Singapore in May and has since traveled through Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and more for a total of five countries and eight cities. In total, he’s met with over 40,000 fans.

The tour aided in helping him solidify his fanbase and demonstrate his power as a rising Hallyu star. One representative stated, “Kim Hyun Joong is one of Korea’s greatest artists in that his high quality stages and fan services are able to satisfy both his fans and officials. More are now focused on his future activities as one of the leaders of global Hallyu.”

Kim Hyun Joong performed nearly 20 songs live for each concert, along with exciting events like laser shows to bring the fan meet up to the level of that of a full blown concert. As the concert’s focus was on his connection to the fans, he planned several special stages with them, such as one where he reenacted movie scenes with them or another where he called up one special fan and serenaded her with a song.

He concluded each event by locking eyes and shaking hands with every single one of them as they filed out.

Kim Hyun Joong recently became the first Korean solo artist to reach #1 on Japan’s famous Oricon DVD chart.

Kim Hyun Joong’s tour DVD, ‘First Impact‘, sold an amazing 16,000 copies in the first week of its release, claiming the top spot on the Oricon chart on the 23rd.

The only other foreign solo artist who made the top spot on Japan’s Oricon chart is Michael Jackson whose DVD reached #1 twice. In 2003, BoA reached #3 on the chart with her ‘8 Miles and More‘ DVD.

‘First Impact’ gives an inside look into Kim Hyun Joong’s 8-city tour in Japan, which started last November, and his concert in Yokohama Arena that was held this past February.

With the members of SS501 busy with their own individual activities, the public has been unable to see the group together since 2010.

However, Triple S fans in Seoul were able to see the five members all together this weekend, when Hyun Joong, Young Saeng, Jung Min and Hyung Jun made special plans to attend Kyu Jong‘s final fanmeet before his army enlistment.

According to reports, Hyun Joong flew in after hosting his own fanmeet in China, and Jung Min looked on from the audience for unannounced reasons.

While Kyu Jong’s enlistment means that SS501 cannot be fully active as five until 2014, many Triple S fans have been ecstatic about finally seeing the group together for the first time in two years. The five-man fanmeet energized Triple S fans around the world, with Hyun Joong reassuring, ”SS501 will never disband, so please wait for us!”

Although official photos have yet to be released, online fan communities and social media websites have exploded with messages, with the hashtag #SS501Reunited reportedly trending on Twitter in Indonesia, Singapore and other parts of Southeast Asia for some time. Fanmeet attendees have also begun to post photos of the five men together at the event on the internet, sharing the experience with eager Triple S fans worldwide.

Comedian Jung Jun Ha finally tied the knot on May 20th and many celebrities attended his wedding ceremony to congratulate the funnyman including, Kim Hyun Joong and Kang Ho Dong.

Before the ceremony began, a press conference was held in addition to congratulatory messages from guests. Kim Hyun Joong attended the event and commented, “I hope Jung Jun Ha hyungnim lives happily for a long time and I hope the two of them love each other and become joyful for a million years“.

Next, Kang Ho Dong appeared and left a message, saying, “I was invited by Jung Jun Ha and came to congratulate him. I honestly congratulate him on his marriage and I hope Jung Jun Ha gives a lot of love to his wife. I hope they give birth to many sons who resemble Jung Jun Ha and many daughters who resemble the bride and raise a happy family. I also wish viewers to stay healthy and be happy.”

Yoon Jong Shin also attended and commented, “Jung Jun Ha is very shy and he always calls me up when he goes anywhere. Marriage isn’t easy, I hope they live a good life.”

A letter written by JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong to Kim Hyun Joong has become an issue.

In the episode of MBC’s K-Pop Star Shakes the World–Lucky Guy Kim Hyun Joong which aired on April 17, Kim Hyun Joong shows his particularly close relationship with JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong.

The stars are seen having a meal together and frankly sharing about their stories for they haven’t seen each other for a long time.

Kim Hyun Joong says, “We have lived together for a year, but because we are both busy with activities abroad, the actual time we’ve spent together is only about a month.

When I was going through a hard time, Jae Joong hyung wrote me a letter. He said, ‘If there’s anything bothering you, don’t keep it to yourself. I’m there for you.’ I was so grateful for that letter.” He expresses his gratitude to Jae Joong.

On hearing this, Kim Jae Joong replies, “I received a letter back from Hyun Joong which read, ‘I’m sorry and thank you, hyung.’ I know it’s pretty awkward for guys to communicate with a letter, but still…” and laughed out loud.

Kim Hyun Joong became the main TV model for Japanese esthetic brand “Slim Beauty House,” becoming only the second Korean celebrity to endorse a cosmetic brand in Japan. Jang Geun Suk is currently the model for “Esthetic TBC.”

In the new TV commercial that started airing on February 23, Kim Hyun Joong is seen wearing a white shirt in a white background scene. He’s staring at a beautiful woman without a word until he says, “May I like you?”

Kim Hyun Joong has been re-signed as a model for Hang Ten’s clothing line. He was featured as the model for their winter collection and had received a positive response from consumers and the media.

The executive director of Hang Ten’s Korean division, Jung Yong Ha stated:

“Kim Hyun Joong increased the likeability of our brand by modeling for us last year. His image is one that appeals to the masses, and his stylish nature pairs well with our brand’s image.”

Kim Hyun Joong is going to endorse the company’s Spring and Summer collection and remain a model for the next year. The collection will feature light cardigans and comfortable plaid shirts.

Hallyu’s most affluent idol stars have raked in an impressive profit, not only with their album promotions, but also with various CFs, events, dramas, and more. Even more so now, with further promotions throughout the Asian continent.

It’s no secret that the Korean celebrity with the most lavish home is legendary singer Cho Young Nam, whose villa is worth over $5.2 million. But what about amongst the idols? Where do they live?
The idol star with the most expensive home is none other than Asian prince Jang Geun Suk.

The singer and actor who is the current “it” star in Japan currently resides in a $3.5 million dollar home in Seoul. He moved into the villa last October, which has it’s own family-sized movie theater as well as a cafe. He is neighbors with actresses Lee Hae Young and Suh Ji Young.

Not only does he live in a lavish home, the idol star also has a $8.8 million dollar building to his name. The building was formerly the property of comedian Seo Sae Won and his wife Seo Jung Hee, and he purchased the two-story building last year.

The Hallyu star is busy promoting as both an actor and singer in Japan, also filming CFs whenever he gets the chance. His drama “You’re Beautiful” was also a big hit with his Japanese fans and it was reported that the singer earned $35.5 million dollars in 2011 alone.

The Japanese media predict that Jang Geun Suk earns over $800,000 per commercial, and will also be able to earn up to $90,000 per day from souvenir merchandise alone.

The celebrity idol living in the second most expensive home after Jang Geun Suk is singer, actor, and MC Lee Seung Gi.

He lives in the ‘Brownstone Legend’ building in Seoul worth $3.1 million USD and the complex includes amenities such as a fitness center, a golf range, an event venue, Audio Video theater room, and more.

The singer earned earned $4.4 million US dollars from just endorsements in 2010, and up until now has filmed 11 CFs, earning $7.1 million dollars to date from CFs alone.

Big Bang‘s charismatic rapper T.O.P has a a $2.6 million dollar villa to his name, which he purchased last year. This villa is famous for being a ‘honey moon’ home, and he and actor Jung Jun Ho as well as singer Lee Hyori are residents of the same neighborhood. T.O.P’s villa consists of 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The home boasts the finest interior and looks over the Han River.

Singer Kim Hyun Joong lives in a European-style villa located in the Chungdamdong area. A small garden is located outside the villa, as well as a number of parks.

The singer and actor has also raked in an impressive profit, filming dramas, CFs, promoting overseas and more, and this home is definitely well-deserved. He personally participated in designing the interior of the home.

Fellow member Kim Jaejoong also lives in a $2.6 million dollar penthouse located in the Samsung-dong district. His home comes with a terrace, and boasts over 3,200 sq ft.

Kim Hyun Joong is already gaining much interest in Japan.

Although Kim Hyun Joong’s official debut has been slated for January 25th, the tracks off his album have been released for download as mobile message-alert sounds.

Within one day of release, Kim Hyun Joong ranked #1 on the ‘mobile message-alert download daily chart’ with “Kiss Kiss” on ‘Recochoku‘, becoming the first Korean male artist to do so. Asides from “Kiss Kiss”, “Lucky Guy”, “U”, ‘Breakdown‘ and other tracks are also included in the top twenty, evidencing the popularity of the singer.

Furthermore, Kim Hyun Joong is currently preparing for the live show on Japan’s ‘Music Station’ on January 27th. As it is an unprecedented event for a Korean solo artist making his debut to perform on such a popular show, the amount of interest from the Japanese music industry, as well as local media, has been growing.

In related news, Kim Hyun Joong will be holding an event commemorating the release of his debut album called ‘Premium Live 2012′ to meet his Japanese fans on February 5th at the Yokohama Arena.

The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (‘MOGEF‘) have just revealed their first batch of ‘dangerous material’ for 2012.

On January 16th, the MOGEF announced that they’ve censored the music videos for Huh Gak’s “Hello” and Kim Hyun Joong’s “Lucky Guy” due to its inappropriate content for minors.

The MOGEF claims that Huh Gak’s “Hello” is too violent, while Kim Hyun Joong’s “Lucky Guy” encourages recklessness.

Joining Huh Gak and Kim Hyun Joong on the list are Simon D, Tablo, and Yoon Mi Rae. Simon D’s “Cheerz” has been censored because of the MV’s inclusion of “hazardous substances” and “immoral lodgings”, while Tablo’s “Bad” contains “portrayals of violence and appearance of hazardous substances”. Yoon Mi Rae’s “Get It In” has likewise been struck out for its scenes of violence.

The censorship will go into effect starting January 23rd.

At the ‘KBS Gayo Daechukje’ on December 30th, Kim Hyun Joong put on an impressive stage with Rain’s ‘Rainism’.

Kim Hyun Joong put on a perfect stage of ‘Rainism’ before presenting his own song. The dance and the singing were so perfect that it felt as though Rain had come back from the military for the stage. The powerful dance moves and the sexy voice really took over the stage.

Kim Hyun Joong is referred many times as the ‘Post Rain’, as a solo male singer to follow in the footsteps of the wildly successful Rain so the performance really drew attention.

Stars are in the spotlight for every reason under the same, but rarely are they in it for good deeds. Although SS501's leader Kim Hyun Joong hoped to keep it under wraps, fans were able to discover a charitable side to the singer and actor through the Red Cross.

On December 26, an official from the Red Cross revealed that he had donated $50,000 to the Red Cross before the start of his Japanese tour in early November. He also donated an additional $50,000 USD to an organization that passes out briquettes to heat the homes of those in need. In total, Kim Hyun Joong donated $100,000 in secrecy before setting off on his two week Japanese tour.

"He didn't have any other reason, really. In the beginning of November, one of Kim Hyun Joong's managers stopped by and donated $50,000, asking that we spend it on a good deed. He also said that he didn't want the act to be spread or widely known," a Red Cross official said.

When asked about the donation, Key East officials replied, "It's a personal act so we as the company didn't know about it. He must've wanted to help out quietly."

Kim Hyun Joong has been on a roll since releasing his two mini-albums, and is currently awaiting the release of his Japanese single on January 25 with Universal Japan.
